You’ve probably seen people with white Apple AirPods in their ears at this point, but how much do you really know about these futuristic earbuds? Are they worth the price? Do they even work well? Read on to find out more about these unique earbuds and why so many people are wearing them.
Design, Fit, & Comfort
When Apple first introduced its wireless earbuds, they were criticized for their odd design. However, there’s no denying that they’re light, super comfortable to wear, and don’t create that annoying microphone-rubbing sound of other earbuds (aka cordless landline phone syndrome).
Ultimately, Apple created a product that delivers a new convenience without sacrificing comfort or quality. In fact, in my opinion, these are some of the best earbuds on the market today. Some of them are:
First Airpods
What Should I Do First? Apple’s AirPods have been out for a while, but not everyone is sure of how to get started with them. The good news is that they are very easy to use they connect right out of the box, and you don’t need to do anything else if you have an iPhone.
For Android users, however, there is a bit more setup involved. Here’s what you should do first with your new AirPods. Exercises Write code using three frameworks/libraries: One in Ruby, one in Python, and one in JavaScript (not including jQuery).
This will give you experience using multiple libraries with different syntaxes and structures. Focus on learning about what each library does rather than writing overly complex applications.
Airpods Gen 2
Apple has just unveiled their second generation of wireless earbuds, which have gotten an overall upgrade in all areas. Even though they’re not as good as true wireless earbuds, there are still some things that make them better than other wireless earbuds.
Here’s why you should purchase Apple’s Airpods even if you own Beats or Bose earbuds. First and foremost, they come with great sound quality and solid battery life (about 4 hours). They also pair easily with most devices and come with several different case colors to choose from.
Airpods Pro
Incredibly comfortable and lightweight, these earbuds are arguably one of Apple’s best design creations. Bluetooth connectivity is quick and painless, even with no dongle
although there is a dongle available, it can be purchased separately.
No tangled wires! Perfect for workout enthusiasts, busy professionals, and anyone else who values function over form. If you already use Siri on your iPhone or iPad, she will be easily accessible through voice commands through these earbuds.
You can also charge them quickly with a portable charging case that has about 24 hours’ worth of battery life. These earbuds come in three colors to match any style or personality white, black and gray they are compatible with all Apple devices running iOS 10 or later, as well as Mac computers running macOS Sierra.
Airpods Gen 3
The latest iteration of Apple’s Bluetooth earbuds is so good that it renders earlier models, including Airpods Gen 2 and first-generation Airpods, completely obsolete. You don’t even need to worry about a dongle anymore with Gen 3.
They also work seamlessly with Siri, so your voice commands are always within arm’s reach. And if you lose one or both of them, you can use Find My iPhone to help locate them.
If you have an iPhone 7 or later, these are by far your best option for wireless headphones and they’re great as an accessory for non-iPhone users too.
Sound Quality
It’s hard to be objective about sound quality, but many reviewers agree that Apple has created a product with decent sound quality — better than most other wireless earbuds.
In fact, in a lot of tests, they score higher than Bose and other high-end brands. And while some people claim they don’t have enough bass, one of our reviewers points out that it’s not fair to expect as much from such small speakers.
If you’re looking for high-quality audio, these might not be your best bet. But if you want a pair of wireless earbuds that will allow you to listen to music without wires or cords getting in your way, these are an excellent choice.
Pros & Cons
Apple’s AirPods are a hefty investment for a pair of wireless earbuds. They’re not perfect — there’s no volume control on these buds and you can’t use them in tandem with an iPhone 7 (or any other iPhone model) to stream music from one device to two sets of AirPods at once.
But they’re super-easy to set up, sound great, last about five hours per charge, and come with their own carrying case that doubles as a charger. You don’t have to worry about losing your charging case because it attaches magnetically to your keychain or backpack strap.
Summary / Closing Thoughts
Apple’s new AirPods promise to change how we consume audio. Brace yourself for a bumpy ride. As of now, Apple has only provided a few details about its wireless earbuds charging case included — and I was able to get my hands on them for about 30 minutes.
They are tiny and they sound great. That said, they aren’t perfect by any means; there are some clear shortcomings that you should be aware of before dropping on these things.
